Bargaining
You didn't know what you had until you lost it A cynic you only knew my price and not my worth You undervalued me and put me on a shelf a discounted, clearance rack- Un-observed. You thought that I wasn't worthy of your time, respect or love It was you, that was the fool That I, you did not deserve And now that other shoppers passing through to browse Have found me on your clearance shelf and their interest was aroused That you saw you had a diamond An expensive, coveted gem That you became jealous when I was quickly grabbed up by them But you sold a treasure for pennies on the dollar Now I am someone else's treasure You can't afford me now, don't bother Next time you pick up a stone Make sure you can differentiate precious gens from common stones For one man's trash is another man's treasure And you'll pay the ultimate ticket, You'll spend the rest of your life alone
