Bandit Beat
Bandit Beat by Jack A.S. Dunce I woke up to a rattling sound that came from my window, Disturbing everything around With beats in allegro. Tippy-tap-tap, tippy-tap-tap, An improvised drumroll By tiny fingers with quick raps On delicate glass bowls. I parted open the curtains To take a look outside, To see the cause and be certain 'Twas not from the inside. I saw a little brownish bird That wore a bandit mask Beating on the glass undeterred; Its wings not up to task. It kept on flying to and fro, From window to tree bough Flapping its wings against its foe, Hard glass it may be though. Amazed, I took a closer look And saw the bird's visage Reflected on the pane it shook, Bristling at its image. I grinned at all its monstrations, And winked at my own reflection. -- 🏵️-- ©️pgmr 08/11/2025 *Inspired by Jenny's video
