backwards
I love you, I love you, I love you Why is it that, The one who pushes me, is the one who carries me back inside The one who sends me home crying is the one wiping my tears They make me cry until my chest burns, they make me laugh until my stomach hurts Why do I feel so safe, when they ruin my life why is it all so backwards I say I love you to the one who hurts me when I should be allowed to say it to the one I love The one who hurts me tells me they love me But not the one who claims I'm their one and only I've heard "I love you, I love you" more from the one who digs the knife into my back, than the one who's meant to take it out I cry to the one who has ruined me, about the one I love when I turn to leave I turn to the one who has shattered me I'll hug them and as they dig a knife into my back I'll tell them how much I love them and they'll say it back
