BABYHOOD
In baby hood innocent, I lay alone A tiny soul , with a heart of stone I cried out for you. With a voice so weak But you were gone, and I was left to seek I grew up too fast, with a childhood unseen A life of foster homes and memories unclean I searched for your face, in the crowds and the pain But you were a ghost, a fleeting memory in vain Why did you leave me mom, when I needed you the most? I was not enough, or was life burden too boast I'm left with the scarsh7 of a childhood unkind A heart that's been broken, and a soul that's left behind I wish I could turn time, to the day you left I would have asked you to stay, to be my mother my best But life doesn't give do over and time does not rewind So I am left to pick up the pieces of a heart and mind Still, I hold on to hope that someday you will return And we will heal the wounds and our love will yearn. But until then, I will keep moving forward, one step at a time. And pray that someday, our love will be redefined
