Azure Borders
The wind is cool, I close my eyes and let it hit me, wishing it could pass through me. The sand underneath me is cold, a traveler's moon is my only company tonight. Waves crash like my thoughts, endlessly and ruthlessly. The trees rustle, and the shrubs tussle against the wind, it's their fate to ever be at its mercy. It's my fate to ever look onward to the horizon. Though people know where I am, none have come by, I wonder why, maybe they're long gone or I'm too far gone. I lay down, the first ray of sunlight tracing my form with its warm embrace. My island is purgatory, paused, prolonging my isolation.
