AYEGUN CHRONICLES
In the streets of Ayegun, Ibadan, I grew up strong, Facing challenges aplenty, where I didn't quite belong. With a father absent, the burden fell on me, To navigate a world of poverty and insecurity. In 600 words, I faced the trials of youth, Struggling to find my place, searching for the truth. Bad governance loomed large, casting shadows on my path, But I refused to be defined by society's wrath. Parental comparison, a constant weight on my shoulders, Measuring my worth against my friends, feeling like a boulder. Insecurity plagued my mind, whispering doubts in my ear, But I knew deep down, my potential was clear. Kidnappings and violence, a constant threat in the air, Yet I refused to cower, to live in despair. I longed for a world where safety was assured, Where children could thrive, where dreams could be secured. The lack of confidence, a heavy burden to bear, But I knew deep inside, I had strength to spare. I yearned for a day when self-doubt would fade away, And I could stand tall, in the light of a new day. The solutions seemed simple, yet so hard to achieve, Good governance, a dream that seemed hard to believe. Parents must stop comparing, let each child shine bright, For we all have our own path
