Awaiting Death
In the darkest of nights, where no stars gleam, I sit in my sorrow, lost in a dream. Every breath is a burden, each heartbeat a weight, In the abyss of my anguish, I contemplate fate. My world is a prison, my heart made of glass, Shattered and broken, unable to pass. I trace the cold outline of the life I’ve despised, Each plan a whisper of the hope I’ve denied. The mirror shows nothing but a hollow despair, A ghost of a person who’s vanished from care. In the silence, I tremble with a pain that won’t end, A life so forsaken, with no one to mend. Tears etch the story of a life turned to ash, A final farewell to a world that won’t last. I prepare for the end, my soul’s last retreat, Seeking release from this torment so sweet. In the stillness, I find solace in the dark, A desperate surrender to the final mark. With no light left to guide me, I slip from the fray, Longing for an end to the endless dismay.
