Ashes of Desire
In shadows deep, where light won’t dare, I find you waiting, unaware. A touch, a glance, forever barred, My heart, a wound, unhealed, scarred.Your name, a whisper on my lips, A poison that my soul still sips. Forbidden fruit, untouched, unseen, A love that festers, cold and mean.I watch you smile, so far away, Yet close enough to lead astray. Each step you take, a dagger’s thrust, As passion crumbles into dust.Your scent, a ghost that haunts my night, In dreams, you’re close, but gone by light. I reach for you, but find the air, Grasping nothing, drowning in despair. This love, a curse I cannot shed, A phantom dancing in my head. It gnaws my heart, it eats my soul, Turning warmth to bitter coal. The pain, it burns, a fevered flame, That leaves me broken, lost in shame. For I must hide, must never speak, This love that makes me cruel and weak. We’re bound by fate’s unyielding chain, Two hearts, condemned to silent pain. To want, to need, but never touch, Is hell’s embrace, a torment much.So I wither in this wretched place, A ghost of love, without a face. Unrequited, bound, and torn, In forbidden love, I’m cursed, forlorn.
