Ashes
You are an astonishing mortal blessed with celestial powers, whereas I am an immortal demon constantly smothered in the ashes of my past mistakes, my only relief is knowing that sometimes I may catch a glimpse of the light before being covered by another layer. Sometimes I do not try to reach the surface, but rather let the powder drown out all other emotions and feel only the emptiness as it engulfs me. Those are the times where I tell myself if was a horrible idea to try at all, and when I hear such words around me, I am only proven right. It does hurt that you no longer see me as someone who is worth anything, though you may disagree. You used to make me feel as if the trash can that crushed me so tightly had an open lid, a place where I could see the sky and it was safe.
