Apology to my Broken Dreams
Apology to My Dreams By: Alma Morecho Angcap How will I face tomorrow, If I cannot escape my past? How will I begin again, If moving forward is something I cannot grasp? Forgive me, my dreams left undone, For I am still trapped in what has been and gone. In every step I try to take, My past is still beside me, for my own sake. How can my feet move ahead, If they are still chained to what’s already dead? How can I leave, how can I let go, If memories refuse to fade and flow? For my heart is still a prisoner, Of a world that no longer lingers. In the shadow of a past that won’t erase, I am lost, unable to find my place. Forgive me for promises I could not keep, Forgive me for dreams that fell asleep. I stumbled within my own memories, And in the past, I lost all of me. But someday, I will be free at last, From the nightmares of my haunting past. And as my wounded heart begins to stand, I’ll hold my dreams and never let go again.
