ANGUISH
In anguish and pain, your words pierce deep, A torrent of resentment, emotions steep. But hear me now, in this response I seek, To lessen the darkness, find solace to keep. A misguided path, you claim for my life, As a man, as a father, a burden and strife. Yet know, dear one, I too bear the weight, Remorseful and seeking, a chance to abate. Reaping what's sown, a universal truth, In deeds and choices, no cloak of aloof. Accountability, a mirror unveiled, Accepting the consequences, my soul impaled. No blame to deflect, the mantle is mine, A shattered existence, a life undermined. But even in darkness, redemption can thrive, If one seeks forgiveness, willing to strive. I understand your anger, your fervent disdain, For actions committed, causing you pain. Yet, within this wrath, you'll find no peace, Love turned to resentment, the blessings decrease. And as for the suffering you wish to bestow, Let me assure you, my heart already knows. Remorse fills my being, every single day, Haunted by choices that cannot be swept away. But as I falter, beneath this heavy load, A flicker of hope, a chance to reload. To find my redemption, within my own soul, To mend the wounds, to regain self-control. For in the abyss
