An Old Minstrel
The minstrel was aging Not as young as in the past But he still had a fine voice He knew it would last And he still played for others With words sweet and fair Brightening their sad days He showed that he cared He'd been all over Though he didn't boast From country to country And each coast to coast The minstrel brought healing To those who were hurt And he would continue Til he lay under dirt Old as he was he sang every day All his songs were happy and gay He brought peace to many And showed them his love This he'd continue Til his soul rose above
