An Extinguished Gaze
My head is broken from the pain of your absence. My eyes are two extinguished lamps of weariness. In this heavy hour,my only wish is To close my eyes And,in the absolute dark, not to be, To no longer inhale the festering stench of life In any breeze. Life, like a wounded sack, Poured every grief it had upon me; As if it were searching for a shoulder Upon which to lay its burden of sorrow. And alas, for a single moment of light… My entire life,I chased a radiance, A light that momentarily flashed in your eyes, In that moment your eyes bridged to my heart, Illuminated my dark heart for an instant… I lost my entire being.
