An Ending I Never Wanted
I miss playing pool with my dad I don't think he realizes But the score was 3-4 And I am losing But the winner's smile still stayed Because I knew in just one more game Victory was reaching out its hand to me And I was ready to grab it But as time went on Victory shook his hand But I won't fall to defeat just yet I think in just one more game I can get him to play I could beat him He was a pool shark But in the ocean I was rising Waiting for him to stick out his hand So I could tell him The tides are in my favor Just one more game As I began to sink And reality set in I was reaching out But he never noticed my hand I only wished for one more game I stood at the pool table Watching him walk away With the smile wiped clean off my face
