an early christmas
christmas tinsel on our evergreen tree blinking lights, star-shaped ornaments. i walk in just to see... you. sheepishly standing over that empty tray without the cookies we had baked and the milk we brought just yesterday... i stare in shock. then i— bend over laughing and wiping my tears full of youth as you begin to make a fuss over there being no more of our delicious cookies— christmas... has come early.
