Ameen to what never came
There was a time I loved a star, Even when I could never touch it, And of course, that day never came. I loved from afar, in silence, Holding a dream that shimmered, Yet was never meant to be mine. And I am glad it never came, For my heart soon noticed A silent warmth from an unexpected source. No thunder, no fireworks— Just calm hands, steady presence, And a soul clothed in good character. I chose not with rushing love, But with peace and conviction, Trusting that time would teach my heart. Now each passing day confirms it, For love has learned my name, And found its home in him. In gentle kisses late at night, In quiet prayers and shared breath, I see Allah’s mercy unfold. What once was distant light, Has become a living warmth— And I am grateful, deeply, completely.
