am i in love or dreaming
The gentle breeze that whispers through the trees, Does it speak of love, or just a passing dream? I see your face in every rustling leaf, And hear your voice in every birdsong's theme. My heart beats fast, a frantic, wild desire, When you are near, a blush upon my face. But is this real, this burning, sweet-like fire, Or just a fancy time cannot erase? because everything is going so smoothly to believe that its true I wake at night, your image in my mind, A lingering scent, a touch upon my hand. Is this the love that poets often find, Or just a phantom from a distant land? I question all, each smile, each gentle word, Each shared glance, each moment we have known. Am I awake, or has my soul been stirred By love's illusion, planted and then grown? Perhaps the line is blurred, the dream so deep, That waking life and slumber intertwine. Perhaps true love is found when secrets sleep, And dreams become a love that will be mine. poem by:Given
