Am I her or is she me?
In the mirror, a stranger's face A reflection of self-doubt's dark place People see sunshine, but I see night A soul lost, with wounds that won't take flight She stands before me, a child so worn Bruises and blood, a heart that's torn No smile, no laughter, just eyes that plead A silent cry, a soul in deep need She comforts me, with a gentle hand A connection deep, through a troubled land But questions swirl, like a stormy sea How did she become this broken me? Who hurt her so, who tore her apart? Did she deserve the weight of a shattered heart? The more I look, the more I see A reflection of pain, a soul trapped in me Am I her, or is she me? Two worlds apart, yet so intricately The darkness she holds, the light I conceal A paradox of pain, a story untold, unreal In her eyes, a plea, a call to see A shared humanity, a bond to be Perhaps the questions I ask of her Are echoes of my own, unspoken fear.
