Am I Good
How will my goodness be decided? And how do I say that I am good? I am as the moon in its silence Going through it's cycles In my darkness I find newness and my light in its fullness lasts only but a moment Am I to decide the virtue of the light I give? Or is that virtue a gift, a title, that you bestow upon me? Will I be judged by my dark phase? My light is not my own The light you see at night is the light that I stole Do you think me immoral now that you know? Or does my theft from that which is rich of light and my charity to that which is lightless absolve me of judgement? Is my well intended cause good enough? Or is my light's virtue the result of your judgement alone? Who is to decide? Light gives you life, But staring in the sun will blind you The moon controls the tide, But swimming at the wrong time will drown you Are to say that the sun is good or evil, what will you say of me? That which gives Can take away When is good, good? When is evil, evil? Or do we all move between the two as the moon in its phases? Who is to decide? -T'nak
