Always There
I was never loud enough to be noticed first, so I learned to stay quiet, constant, useful. I became the place people rested before leaving again. They came with empty hands and full needs, and I gave without counting. I was loved when I listened. Chosen when I stayed silent. Forgiven easily because I never left. But when they found someone brighter, someone easier, I became a memory they didn’t check on. I don’t ask for much just not to be an option, just not to be needed more than I am wanted. I am introverted, not empty. Soft, not weak. can you understand??
