A Love Once Pure I gave him all my heart, my soul, With love and care, I made him whole. A partner, friend, a sister too, A mother’s touch, a love so true. Through dark and light, I stood by him, When life was tough, our light wouldn’t dim. I held him close when the world was cold, I gave him strength, both young and old. But then, a shift, a sudden change, A sister's voice, a new exchange. Her words, her taunts, began to tear, The love we built, no longer there. Once we laughed, once we danced, But now I feel my heart's been tranced. Her shadow grew, and in it, I fade, As I watch our happiness start to degrade. No longer the one who lights his way, Now just a memory, lost in the fray. His sister’s power, unchecked, unkind, Made him blind, left me behind. But I’ve learned the truth, I’ve learned to see, No one has the right to abuse me. I loved him well, I gave my all, But I won't stand for a love that falls. I deserve respect, I deserve the peace, I won’t let their anger cause my grief to cease. The time has come for me to stand tall, To move forward, to rise above it all. The love I gave was pure and real, But now I find my own strength to heal. I won't beg, I won’t plead, I’ll walk away, for I now see
