Alone in your old darkness
Please let me be Alone, As I have always been. Alone with my own thoughts And my own pain. You did not seem to see or care then, When we met, About my dying flame. You only cared about the darkness You were in. Leaving my own pursuits aside, I tried to show you your own heart, By burning bright With my scarce light Until the darkness left you. A candle does not lose its light When kindling another candle's flame And so did I, Without fright, Give you the love you needed. And now my candle's burning's done, But you keep crying for that light I today lack, Afraid to light my candle back, So as to not lose your own light. You did not seem to see or care then, When we met, About my dying flame. You only cared about the darkness You were in. So leave me be, As I have always been, Alone with my own thoughts And my own pain, But now Alone with them In your old darkness.
