Alone
In the stillness of the night, I lay awake Afraid of the shadows that surround me The fear of ending up alone Haunts my every thought, my every dream I reach out in the darkness, seeking solace But find only emptiness, a void A deep abyss that swallows me whole Leaving me stranded, adrift I long for a love that will never fade A partner to hold me close, to chase away the fear To be my rock, my guiding light In a world that seems so cold, so cruel But still I stand, my heart open wide Hoping against hope, that love will find me And banish the fear that grips my soul That I may never have to face the dark alone
