Almost Me
The devil couldn’t reach me, so he changed his plan... he didn’t break me down, he made me who I am. Good at almost everything, but never the best, always standing second no matter the test. Close enough to touch it, far enough to fall, he let me hear the claps, but never have them all. They say that I’m talented, they say that I shine.... but “almost” is a prison I live in all the time. Because the cruelest curse isn’t failing or rough.. it’s being good at everything, but never enough.
