Almost Immortal
My wings of wax- They flap, they flutter They split with cracks Begin to stutter The warmth grows hot The sun draws near That golden spot Burns bright and clear My victory's close Yet still so far I feel no fear I fly by stars A hum ignites within my chest I cant stop now ive come too far I beat my wings-i give my best I feel the fall between each star My wings now melt The sun grows bright My triumph's felt In attention's light Perhaps I failed my main objective For I never quite touched the sun Yet endings feel so subjective Cause somehow still, I feel I've won So I fly on still A moth to flame Enthralled in thrill They'll know my name As I fall I think of home- I swear it's here, this holy dome
