Almost Gone
A minute ago, I was laughing too loud at nothing, Fooling even myself— Thought I was fine. Now I'm here, Staring into space like it holds answers, But it’s just quiet. And so am I. I don’t know what changed— Maybe nothing did. Maybe I just stopped pretending long enough To notice how hollow I’ve become. Everyone says hold on, But to what? When your hands are tired And your name doesn’t even sound like yours anymore. I used to care— About winning, About being loved enough to be worth staying for. But I lost somewhere along the way. Maybe I gave too much, Maybe I broke quietly. All I know is, I'm tired of trying to be okay for everyone else. And this time, There’s no fight left. No spark, no comeback. Just the silence after the storm. I don’t want to be found. I don’t want a rescue. I just want to stop Without feeling guilty for it. Is that too much to ask?
