Almost / Could Have Been
I held my tongue when words should fly, A glance too long, a fleeting sigh. Moments slipped through like morning dew, Almost, yet never fully true. I think of all the times I stayed Silent while my heart betrayed. The “what ifs” linger in my mind, A past I cannot leave behind. Yet hope remains, a quiet flame, That someday, you might feel the same. Almost is never the end, you see, It’s just a start of what could be.
