all just a memory.
The memory is vivid: the buzzing energy of the choir room, the scent of old sheet music and maybe a little too much hairspray. We were both probably a little nervous, standing in our sections, trying to blend in. Then, during one of those warm-up exercises, our eyes met across the risers. Maybe it was a shared smile when the alto section totally nailed a harmony, or a whispered joke about the director's wild gestures. Whatever it was, in that moment, surrounded by the sound of all those voices coming together, something clicked between us. It was the beginning of our own harmony, one that would last far beyond the final bell. "Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”
