All I Am
I frantically whisper "You'd never do this to me." And I'm curled up In someone else's arms So warm I forget How unforgiving the cold is I tell you "I need this." You turn your back The wind coming from every direction My bed is so warm So full There's no room to breathe But still so, so empty You say "I need to give it to you soon." I'm gone. I will be for the rest of the night, Haven't you noticed? They scratch my head And talk of things I don't know But it's so much better Then this pit in my chest It's only me "It always has been." There was a time when she was yours And another made you cry And then he made you lie Goodnight, I love you.
