Alienated
The realm of my silence, where I can be the loudest. It's the quietest time when I feel least isolated. Sitting silently in the corner, replaying moments that aren't my proudest. I try to translate my thoughts into words instead. I guess that's why people choose to leave me alone, leaving me with more thoughts and a sense of why I should be alone. I fear letting people into my reality, which is why I'm labeled as neutral, lacking passion. On the contrary, I'm as interesting as I seem boring, but I'd rather remain undiscovered than spill my life story. It's fear that keeps me from saying too much. The quieter I am, the less judgment I receive. Maybe I play it too safe? I take risks, but often fail, too quick to blame others. I forget I am the problem. i want to say thank you for listening… but you didn't hear me, because it's all inside my head, me talking to myself… alone. Do your eyes glimpse the unspoken longing? Dare you peer into the depths where the world belongs to those who feel unseen, where the weight of unspoken words grows heavy, the gaze weary from the burden of silence? For all this, I have never truly spoken. —Yeng M.
