Alexander
Hey, Alexander, do you ever stop and think about me? Back when you were still in college, holding your red guitar, promising you’d take me to Paris and give me everything. I gave you all my trust, love, and support, and it shone like a mirrorball back then. But now, I have nothing left but best wishes for you. I left you shining, but you left me decaying, staring at the Eiffel Tower figurine you gave me, now rusting on my desk. I keep overthinking it all, wondering why I didn’t realize it then. You were already packing your things, singing that song you wrote about me, maybe just to distract me while you were getting ready to leave. There was a line that said you wished I’d never change. So I didn’t. I never did, until I rotted. Now I still see you smiling through your stories with someone I don’t know. It hit me too late that you were already with him while you were still mine. You left me with all the pressure we were supposed to share. Now I’m drowning in coercion. Did you forget about me? Or are you just ignoring me, pretending I never mattered after putting me in this place? I guess I’ll never know.
