(الْعَصْر) Al-'Asr

When rain shines, and the sun falls, When adults crawl, and toddlers walk fast, What an absurd contrast. When sunrise occurs in the West, And sunset happens in the East, And owners become pests, And a dove behaves like a beast. When lawyers commit crimes, And clerics commit sin, When the rich offer no dime, And the fat appear thin. When sky becomes the floor, And ground becomes the roof, Sharp in resemblance of dull, And statues begin to move, When the innocent look guilty, And the guilty look innocent, And the ugliest appear pretty, Snails seem urgent, Forward motion looks awkward, And backward glances see forward.
