Aging
Look at us. We've grown so much. We don't really feel this old, other than in our bones. These muscles hold memories - deep tissue massages. Piling on experiences. Stacked unevenly. A jagged structure. A bolt in the sky, with inevibility of toppling over. Left with a mess. Retreating to the foundation. The earliest of lessons learned. Stacked neater than the rest. Much more care, clarity, unclouded intention. A happier time - we think. All that loss matters. An empty room that wasn't always. Walls, floors worn. A window still letting in light. Exposing the dust. Life had happened here. Details, in the end, may not be remembered. Not by its owner - not entirely. In pieces, by visitors. Put back together in that final goodbye.
