Against the tide
I'm a Gen Z child, yet I stray From the path my peers have chosen to sway Their ways are not mine, I want to be free From the chains of cheating, drugs, and humanity My mind rebels against the tide A million voices whisper, 'Step aside' But I yearn to be the change I seek To revive the greatness of our ancient speak Genders once balanced, now lost in the haze Physically and mentally, they're drifting away From the beauty of our cultural past Forgotten values that will forever last My heart aches, witnessing the decline Of empathy and kindness, left behind Cruelty and discrimination, a world in pain Can we change the course, or is it all in vain? I'm torn between conforming and being true To myself, or the world, what am I to do? Survive and thrive, or fade away In a world that's losing its humanity each day I know I'm not alone in this quest To revive the light, and let love be the test Though the journey's hard, I'll find my way To be a beacon of hope, come what may
