Afraid of Happiness
In moments of joy, my heart takes flight, Yet shadows of doubt cloud my delight. Happiness blooms like a rare, fragile bloom, But whispers within me, "Is this too soon?" A symphony of laughter, a dance of glee, But a fear lingers, what if it can't be? I question the stars that shine in my night, Is this happiness real, or just a brief light? A skeptic within, cautioning with care, To savor each moment, to be aware, For happiness, like a bird, can quickly take flight, Leaving behind echoes of a bittersweet night. Yet I choose to believe in the warmth of the sun, Even when darkness suggests that joy's done. For in moments of doubt, I'll still find my way, To cherish the happiness, come what may.
