Afraid
In shadows deep, I tread with wary heart, Two fears entwined, tearing me apart. The first, a trembling fear of love's embrace, A precipice, where hearts in passion race. For love, a dance on fragile threads we weave, Uncertainty and vulnerability, we must believe. To fall in love is to risk the unknown, A vulnerability that chills to the bone. But deeper still, the fear of solitude's call, A lonely echo in the darkest hall. The void, a cavern where one's fears abide, In solitude, we fear, we'll slowly subside. To love and not be loved, the deepest cut, To be alone and lost, an empty rut. These twin fears haunt, like shadows in the night, A struggle within, where darkness fights the light. Yet, in these fears, we find a common thread, For in love and solitude, our hearts are led. To conquer fear, we must our courage find, And in the shadows, seek the ties that bind. For love can be a beacon in the dark, A flame to guide us when we've lost our spark. And in solitude, we find strength anew, To be alone, but not be feeling blue. So, let us face these fears with open eyes, Embrace the love that in our hearts lies. And in the quiet moments, when we're alone, Find solace in the strength that is our own.
