A brief argument, a minor conflict is enough to let my mind run wild, enough to make me feel like a worthless mess. Left alone with my thoughts, I'm tortured in the worst way possible. My thoughts are unrelenting, nonstop, Impossible to stop. I begin to picture, to envision, the way a blade glides seamlessly yet painfully over my skin, the precise, exact feeling and touch of it, as it cuts through the thick skin on my wrists. I need to distract myself from such thoughts, I need to reach out to my friends, I need to step away and go for a walk, but what if my friends do not respond, or it's simply too late? My chest tightens, my anxiety grows exponentially, I need to remove myself from this place, to escape and venture outside. noel.frb
