Addiction
Trapped in a cycle, of desire and shame A prisoner of passion, with no one to blame I sought solace in arms, that weren't mine to hold Chasing fleeting pleasure, as my soul grew old But then I realized, the harm I'd done The pain I'd caused, the love I'd undone I sought help and healing, and started on the road To recovery and freedom, from my addictive load Abstinence is my shield, my protection and my might A daily choice to resist, the temptations of the night It's not easy, but I'm strong, and I'm getting through One day at a time, I'm breaking free from you Sex addiction, you had me in your grasp But I'm taking back control, and embracing my past I'm learning to love myself, and finding my true worth And discovering a new me, with a heart that's rebirth I'm proud of my progress, and the steps I've made I'm grateful for the support, that helps me stay on the path I've paved I'm not perfect, but I'm getting better each day And I know that I'll rise, above this addiction's sway
