Addicted to a memory
Addicted to a memory .......................... From your voice I hear a thousand songs, Songs that became my crutch Without them I can't seem to stand My sanity is tied to your voice A voice I wished I heard each day. I tried to forge ahead But then where am I heading to?, I run from memories that I've known But yours is but my final hurdle To cross these bars, I need to forget you My salvation is merged in you Your reins you've put on me Your saddle I wear with pride A pride I carry all too well. Looming over my heart Are the words you inscribed, They paint my heart with bliss A bliss I never want to do without. Tell me something Do I have to crawl to reach you, To me you're like wine Sweet yet intoxicating You're like honey Sweet and all so good To this I say I'm addicted I'm hooked like a fish Reel me in before I drown In obsession I swim I'm addicted to a memory A memory I'll gladly drown in. © Adiela Michael
