As the sun sinks below the horizon each evening, I guide the chicks and goats to retire to their resting place. The aroma of Nsala soup fills the air, conveying me to my continent of chastity and peace. Dancing under the udara tree, bare feet stomping out rhythm, Stories of Chike and the River spellbound me, Giving birth to impossible dreams. Amid little possessions, I remained content, Trekking miles to Onyema Stream Was an adventure to me. Most importantly, my smile— A symbol of the beauty of my land. Keeping a smile upon my face, As I grew into adulthood, My elders' wisdom remained my backbone. Understanding my heritage in diversity Gave me a sense of obligation to tell my story. As I journey into the world beyond my knowledge, I carry the lessons of my childhood, Savouring every memory that lingers. Its rhythms still thump in my heart; I guess it is an unbreakable shackle.
