aching heart
The rain falls like tears on a window pane, Mirroring the sorrow that floods my brain. Each drop a memory, a whispered plea, Of what was, what could have been, and what will never be. My heart, a cage, with bars of pain, Trapped inside, a love that's gone insane. Each beat a hammer, pounding on my soul, Echoing the emptiness, leaving me in control. The world moves on, a blur of passing days, While I'm frozen in time, lost in a maze. Of shattered dreams and promises unkept, A love that burned bright, now forever slept. The silence screams, a deafening roar, Of what was lost, forevermore. I clutch at shadows, grasping for a hold, But find only emptiness, a story untold. This pain, a constant, a relentless tide, Washing over me, I cannot hide. Aching heart, forever scarred and torn, A love that's gone, leaving me forlorn.
