Absence
I look for signs of you everywhere I go yet I see you rarely in a few years I'm sure I will only think of you when something reminds me but now the wound is so fresh I don't see you because I am always dwelling on your absence last night I looked for you twinkling among the stars but I didn't see you I searched each inch of the empty sky thought there were hundreds of stars but the sky had never seemed so empty you were not there you must be somewhere else somewhere where I can't find you I thought maybe you would paint me a sunset but the sky was gray I can't reach you I can only find your absence
