Abortion:Lament of the unborn
A nascent life, a gift divine, Bestowed upon thee, a treasure to design, A child to nurture, to guide and to mold, A precious being, with a story to unfold. But alas, the fragile thread of life was torn, A decision made, to silence the unborn, A heartbeat stilled, a dream left unfulfilled, A future erased, without a chance to build. They justify the act, with laws and with might, A veiled attempt, to control the light, Of life and of love, that shines so bright, A cruel irony, that takes flight. What distinction lies, between the one who takes, And the one who kills, with premeditated makes? Both leave a trail, of death and of pain, Both snuff the flame, of life's nascent refrain. A child, defenseless, and pure of heart, Dependent on thee, for a brand new start, A life unlived, a song unsung, A dream that withered, before it had sprung. And yet, there are those, who yearn to conceive, To cradle a child, and to help them breathe, To nurture and love, with a heart full of cheer, But fate denies them, the joy they hold dear. Oh, the humanity, that lacks a heart, That chooses to end, a life that would start, A soul that would flourish, with love and with light, A future that beckons, with promise and delight.
