A Young Lass
In a land so rich and green, Where the sun shines bright and clean, There once lived a young lass, Whose beauty was beyond surpass. She'd roam through fields of gold, Where the bees and butterflies unfold, The scent of flowers filled the air, And the wind caressed her hair. Her heart, so pure and free, Would gaze at the distant sea, Where the waves would gently sway, Carrying her worries away. But one day, love came 'round, And her feet were rooted to the ground, For a young man had caught her eye, And her heart soared up to the sky. Together, they explored the land, Hand in hand, they made a stand, Against the trials that came their way, For the love in their hearts would not sway. As the days began to fade, The young lass felt her heart dismayed, For time had swept her love away, Leaving her heart in disarray. Alone, she'd wander once again, Through the fields and past the glen, Breathing in the sweet perfume, That carried her heart beyond the gloom. For in the beauty of nature's face, She found solace in its grace, And though her heart may have been torn, Nature's beauty left her reborn. So if ever you feel lost in life, And all seems dark amidst the strife, Just look to nature's beauty divine. -RT
