"A World Behind"
I feel like I'm a world behind, Spending my days alone, Dreading the world outside, Dominated by hateful thoughts. My feelings etched on my skin, Remind me of winter’s chill— A cold blade breaking through, Pain the only thing that's real, In focus, like a lens. And I'm living proof. These feelings— I know they’re not permanent, A moment in agony, A spotlight on a pedestal, I shine a light on emptiness, Existing to simply live, Not living for. A bleak future, dark and lonely, Obscured from the world. I'm hopeful, but hope is fading fast— I fear I don’t have enough winter left.
