Y'know When I had to go you knew I'd be back So why did you? A part of me still flinches when I come home Half expecting you to barrel at me But when you don't it hurts worse I still wake up in the middle of the night Expecting find you sleeping at the foot of my bed And I'm hurt all over again when you're not It was supposed to be you and me y'know A girl and her dog But almost 2 years later I still hurt over losing you Oh even if I knew what I would be missing I'd still want you here with me So you'd know the woman I turned into But now there's more space in my bed Space you used to take up My chairs go undisturbed without you underneath My clothes don't vanish to the corner you used to lay in I turned cold I turned distant Since you left I used to sit in the living room Now I hardly leave my bed I used to be outside Now I don't even leave the house When I would go You knew I'd be back So why did you have to Cause I knew you wouldn't be
