A Wanting Dare
Here, no promises are needed, no vows Your voices play in my head, a melody In the abyss of doubt your eyes light a torch I find my way even while your hand is far Loneliness took refuge in my inner room But shadows of you cast off its gloom Thoughts dripping like dew have made me bloom Your heart calls, I'll answer even to my doom My twitching hands fist as I raise a dare Something snapping when you're near My bones scream words even I fear Words I might just show you and not say. You're so close that I feel each call of your heart The nervous, silent, wondering breaths A longing that pulls me in senseless I'll let it burn with one final yes... So may I?
