A Voice in the Crowd
Some race ahead, some take it slow, Some juggle the skies, some watch rivers flow. Success is a road, winding and steep, Some run with ease, some fall in deep. I walk this path, one step, not two, A mind that forgets, though it tries to hold true. A book today, a blank page tomorrow, Drenched in echoes of silent sorrow. They say, "Speak up!" but my voice won’t stay, Lost in the walls where whispers decay. Eyes burn through, they measure, they pry, A world too loud, yet I walk by. Some call me cold, some call me weak, Some call me broken when I can’t speak. But different we are, like stars in the night, Not all must blaze—some shine in quiet light. So hear me not for the words I don’t say, But for the battles I fight in my own way. Not every storm screams; some rain in disguise, Not all who are silent have closed their eyes.
