A Version of Me I Lost
I walk through a path that's not mine, wishing my body and mind could align carrying a heart too heavy for my chest, and the name that doesn't fit my skin. Living a life like Twilight. But still, I hope my life could be airtight, drowning in a place full of air, yet suffocating, waiting for someone to save me from my despair. I don’t need just anyone to save me I just need to wake up from this endless dream. My shadow hunts me; it screams I’m fake. This world is bleeding, and so am I, but what can I say? ’Cause my world falls apart. The darkness my heart carries is dangerous, my mind too cautious maybe too much. But what can I do when my world is no longer the same, different from what I knew? Flowers die as I carry my sorrows with me; nightfall looms heavy, yet to them, I am mighty. I’m wounded in places no one sees, yet I laugh as if I’m fine. And still I wonder when will I be free? When will I escape the thorns that prick me? When will the emptiness stop swallowing pieces of me? No, I’m not depressed, I know love surrounds me… but somehow, I’m just not me. Maybe one day I’ll find the version of me I lost or maybe she’ll find me first. Until then, I keep stitching myself together in the dark
