A tribute to a grandparent
Everytime you pinched my cheeks, With your soft, weak yet tough fingers, I could smell the aroma , Of the delicacies, You have prepared for me. Everytime you hugged me, Your arms wrapped around me tight, I could feel the warmth flow into me , And my burdens melt away, like butter on fire. Every time I was accused of my own mischief, I ran into your arms, To escape the pain afflicted By my mother ; You were always my 'Saviour'. As I step my foot to the unseen, Exploring the world you have once lived in, You made sure to prepare me, Mould, carve and shape the best, With your wise words and witty humour. Your last words, And my first medicine, To the wounds offered by this world, Happen to be the same. "Chin up, little one. Nothing nor noone could ever destroy the fire, I put in you."
